You can name all the brands but what specific type of reel are you looking for?? Spin or overhead???

If your looking for

If your looking for overheads, I rate the penns very high personally, But you can buy a tiagra for quite a lot less then the penn internationals, and they do the same job. Accurate Boss platinum range are highly priced, and IMO not worth the extra coin.

Maybe not the Boss range but

Maybe not the Boss range but check out the ATD range, beautiful reels and precision engineered. Otherwise yeh, Inter 12LT, 16VS or Tiagra 16A, 20A and 30A, Avets SX is awesome for 6-10kg. Compact and smooth drag.

Those cheeky buggers at Accurate now have their own rods, I can hear my wallet's death throes just thinking about it.

Brenz, I have a boss magnum but they have their drawbacks. At that end of the scale, when you're paying that much coin, its all top-quality.

If I was in your position I would choose a TLD25, if its for trolling. No overkill, sportswise or price wise, for sails and mackies. Just a suggestion Laughing

Diawa

What about checking out the Diawa SLD 30 Two Speed, a lot of reel for your bucks and a very simple gear change?
Here in Durban we have the Diawa importer, it is always good to have back-up nearby,an important consideration as to one's final choice!

another low budget good reel

Wed, 2008-06-11 15:39

another low budget good reel would be something like a tyrnos 20, especially if its only going to be used on a once a year trip
