meelup beach or the north end of bunker bay(near the rocks) has worked for us 5 years running at easter and the old faithful paternoster with a star sinker on the bottom and ganged hooks/mulie always works or for lures take your pick metals/minnows/plastics all work at the right time.   cheers

Don't bother

driving to Margs when you can catch them in town. Anywhere in Geo Bay ie. Fish Rock, Castle Rock/Bay, Meelup, Point Pique, Eagle Bay, Rocky Point, Bunkers Bay etc. will have them passing through regularly at that time. You can just sit there and wait for them to pass through then baitcast a mulie or cast a hardbody 5m infront then HANG ON!

Along with the bay there are numerous spots along the west coast that will have bigger schools >50tonne at various times. These are the ones I look for

Send me a PM if you'd like a little more detail.

that's only 50% of my favourite salmon spots, now all he needs to do is learn how to cast 120m

Travel

If he's willing to travel further south there are plenty of spots that can really turn it on IF the fish are there.

Im with feral on the light

Im with feral on the light gear selection. Last year i landed on 8lb and this year my goal is to land one on 4lb.

Everyone has already hit the spots. I have had luck at bunker bay, Farm and geo bay. A little drive south at smiths is also good. As Matt Miller has said no point driving 50kms south if there are schools frequently in the bay

Just send a slice out, crank it back at a quick pace and then hold on. After your first hook up you will be addicted for life, salmon fishing is like crack but more expensive.
