AFL Grand Final 2013
The big dance is upon us .. The biggest day in the 19yr history of the Dockers and the Hawks with last years loss in mind . It's set to be a fiery start I would imagine with players doing their best to assert authority . The best offensive side vs the best defensive side , the dockers go in as underdogs and will need to settle early and the challenge will be to hold the Hawks on the wider ground and give them no run . A formidable challenge to nullify the likes of talls Roughy , Hale and Franklin getting space and it will test the dockers to the nth degree . The dockers will need to maintain their pressure every minute for 4 qtrs to get over the line .. any free running by the Hawks and we'll be punished .
PS they were just saying on radio rumours are rife Buddy wants to come back west next year , food for thought .

Get on Sandilands for Norm Smith
He will give freo control of the clearances and destroy Hale and Bailey, changing the Hawks set up with the sub as they won't be able to sub Bailey off for extra legs in the last quarter. They will kick to him time and time again down the line and slip forward for at least one goal.

I think freo are a chance, if its going to be wet their small forwards will be dangerous and the likes of Buddy and Roughy might struggle a bit. But I still think that hawks by under 15 points, it will be very tight, experience and the loss from last year might carry them over the line. Hoping to see some brawls as well. Freo have nothing to lose, even if they don't win tomorrow I think in the next few year their premiership window will still be open. Its very hard for me to say the next few words cause im a diehard wc supporter but, GO FREO

Both Dockers and Hawks kicked poorly at goal last week .. Out of all the players , I would think Pavs got to be the most pumped and hungriest out there today . It would be a fitting finish if we get across the line and he bags out and picks up the Norm Smith . Sandy and Bally I tip to have a big day as well.

Grand final nerves hit everyone though, didn't roll over and gave a good account of themselves in the second half.

Yes I am here! Just awoken from a long well needed sleep. I only had about one hours sleep the night before. And I have a slight sore head after significant beer drinking last night.
yes, I am gutted. The better team on the day won and congratulations to hawthorn. Freos nerves and poor kicking early cost us dearly. Very proud of their 3rd quarter come back. At the break I thought we could do it. Would be interested to know how a few hawks supporters honestly felt then too?
Ultimately what this club strives for hasnt been delivered, but in terms of continual improvement , this seaon has been an enormous success. Particularly in the development of our second and third tier players. The depth of our list was tested during the year and we continued to win games.
we have some great young players coming through. I am happy with the shape our club is in. We have an exciting 6 or 7 years ahead of us.
the grand final experience? Awesome! The mcg is an amazing stadium. 100,007 people is a sight to behold. Dobyou reckon they might have counted a cleaner or two to fudge that upwards a bit? Great crowd, great banter, great experience. For those who havent done it, put it on the bucket list. Hopefully to watch your own team.
it certainly was not a waste of money and I am certainly not disappointed!
Hope to be back in 2014.

In all honesty Randall, I was nervous, throw in a few expletives and you get the picture...thought that Freo had finally woken up and playing like they could. They were a huge chance but I guess that first half hurt them too much, with all that wayward kicking, Ballantyne having a stinker and what not. Freo though should be well up there next year.

Well I think the premiership window is wide open for Freo now, as they say, you need to lose one to win one. Will take a week or so before I can look at the AFL or Herald Sun web sites, but since I'm up on site and dont drink up here, I'll make up for that next weekend and bury my demons and get ready for next season.

Would you have honestly posted that when the dockers got to within three points during the third quarter? I now you're happy and have every right to be, but how about just some humble appreciation of the effort your opponents made on the day. You really are a tosser tim-o.
hawthorn won, freo lost, probably more of the latter influenced the outcome. Go and celebrate your teams win rather than hang shit on a team that has still had a great season. The hawks fans at the ground were good value. Cheering and encouraging and winning in a good way. Cant say the same about you tim-o.
