Maybe Cod and Bass instead, just the Bass hits are harder and faster..

Well the lakes up at Brighton estate now have a thriving Koi population thanks to someone putting their pet in the middle lake. I have seen a big orange one about 60cm long in there. Wonder if they take plastics.

where we fish for bream on popper flies. May not be as ferocious an attack or as big, but in many ways a harder target than aust bass as they tend to be more wary and generally you have to fish sunrise/sunset.

 

I did fish the aust bass when I lived in Syd and I agree that it would be awesome to have them here in WA, in fact there are a number of fresh water species I'd love to see here. I sit and wait in hope that one day......
