plenty of little ones around, went couple of weeks ago behind 5 fathom and burleyed, got a couple a 57 and 52, plenty of smaller ones. went last week did the same, got real small ones and none legal but got heaps of skippys and sambos. all good fun. also my bro got 4 stingrays in 2 hours which i think was pretty funny, gotta be a record of somekind.

so they r out there, just burley n see what comes up.

happy fishing.

Taking the old man out

Thu, 2012-06-07 22:41

Taking the old man out fishing on Saturday morning. Fairly new to the offshore fishing. Have been out around rottnest  (few KMs north of Bathurst) a couple of times lately without a lot of luck at all.  Would love some advice on some other areas to try heading out from Freo.

I have been getting my share this season so far, but not in the sound!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

mate i beleive that the pinkies are in all year round my mate and i get them land based in cockburn sound for most of the year and last week we were out on the boat on the same spot we kayak baits of landbased and we got a 9kg pinkie within 20mins then nothing after that except a decent gummy. at this particular spot its 250m off shore and they are deffinatly there all year round and when their there you can get upto 6 land based snapper a night ! more if u can be stuffed kayaking more baits out
