Anyone going to Gnaraloo Station this Sat?
Submitted by Xtreme Coolers on Mon, 2010-06-28 20:43
I am heading to Gnaraloo Station on Saturday for the annual migration North. This will be our 7th year there. The weather is looking good, fingers crossed. I was just wondering if anyone else from the site is going to be up there at the same time? I will be there from Sat 3rd to Sat 10th. This year we hope to come across a few sailfish and marlin a bit wider out.

Hi Rick
We always hire from Laurie out of Kalbarri. This year we are taking up the 6.5. A bit easier to manage on the beach. I will keep you informed on how we go Rick. There are sure to be some cracking pictures to show.

Yes Faulkner's, we are taking two coolers with us. A 100litre mack amd a 120litre as well. Thanks for all of the good wishes. I will post the good picks. The weather has already changed, not as good as first predicted and tonight i have dislocated my finger at my sons auskick. Can you believe it? Let you all know how we get on. Collin, i will make sure there are plenty of reds left for you.
Cheers

Hi Darryl
We are in cabin one, just north of you i think. The ninth will be our last fishing day. Look forward in seeing you there. Johnno, the finger will be fine, only popped out the first knuckle on the ring finger. It went back in quite easily. A bit of tape and a paddle pop stick has done the trick.

How many going
If you have a couple of group going and you are pooling food etc one thing we used to do to stop ending up with 4kg bacon, 4 jars of vegemite, 4 bottles of sauce,4 times everything each member got etc was to all do the shopping in Carnarvon on your way through. That way you are not carting it some 1000ks and the prices are not far from Perth prices, same goes for the booze as well.
We would fill every bit of esky space with ice from Kai down by the harbour or the ice works place on the left near Beauripaires.
Mabe we were slow learners because we had done some 4-5 trips before we started doing it and for the next 12 or so it worked out perfect.

shoppers docket
last time we went through carnarvon we shopped at the IGA near the main caltex garrage, then you can go back to the caltex and get 4c a litre of your petrol which helps when putting in 200 lts between your car and boat
