Anyone had a crack at 3D printing some fishing gear?

Hi everyone,
i was was wondering if anyone on here had had a go as yet in printing any of their own fishing lures and or fishing gear overall? I am looking at 3D printers, particularly because they have come down in price so much recently. I’m not looking to set the world on fire or anything, I just like the idea of catching fish on something for which I have made myself. Any info or feedback would be appreciated.
many thanks

Had a crack
Hey mate I had a crack at them a couple of years ago, copied the shape from a Halco Hamma that I had in the tackle box, went though a few issues with them, ended up printing 4 at a time with sprues holding them together, i used screw in eyes which i went through a few more issues with also, firstly i tried drilling the lure body to set the eye but found the plastic just melts and makes a mess, then i changed my model to have small holes in place for the screws, ended up being too small to screw the eye into the cold plastic, put the lure into boiling water then screwed the eyes in and came up a treat. To hide the growth line from the print I gave the lure a coat of 2 pac araldite just from bunnings and then a quick spray from a can and below is how far i got with them. Then the printer started having alignment issues and would struggle to complete a print so I packed it up. Can send you the model file if you're keen.

Pm sent mate
With my email address. If you don’t receive it please just let me know. A copy of the lure schematic / file template would be awesome!

I suspect the best way to go
I suspect the best way to go with lures would be to model small round cut outs for eyes with flat circular faces to glue eyes onto. THe above idea aboutaraldite as a surface coating is good id work with something like that. As for hooks etc, i wouldnt want to screw anything into the plastic body and allow for the printed body to be taking the weight. Id be looking at somekind of hole running through the lure to allow a fixed wire/rod to connect all the hook points back to the mainline at the nose. Possibly also look at printing them in two halves with the negatives for the wire inserts included in each half. This would allow for hooks in the belly to be connected to the internal wire.
In the end i almost think it would be worth using 3d printing to make positive blanks and then cast these into negatives so you can just smash them out in a mould, then at least the material would be strong as not sure how ABS/PLA would handle with a big fish biting down..
My
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

3d printed some tuna skirt
3d printed some tuna skirt heads a few years back - paid to have them printed so wasn't cheap but worked out really well - done out of interest more than anything.
own printer would have made a big difference price wise
Having trouble putting pics in this thread - have put 3 in my gallery
9 holes on the cupped face - 1 central for trace, 4 centre ones around this run straight back and come out under the skirt the 4 outer ones are slightly angled and exit on the side of the lure head - gets a nice bubble trail and swims well

One thing I have noted is
One thing I have noted is after a day in the water if you give them a quick rinse and then dry they have a bit of salt leech out, (I gather although solid looking they have a slight porous aspect to them).
Soaking in a bucket of fresh for a day after use and then drying seems to aleviate this. No biggy the only real issue I see is you'd want to be careful re storing with other tackle
