anyone know what these boat electronics are?

Ive just bought a new boat and am a bit confused as to what a couple of the electronics are....

PIC A+B: Im not sure what the small black plug like hole is in next to the switches...? it looks kind of like a cig lighter but it has a solid plastic column in the middle of it? Ive had a look at the cable behind it and it looks as though it has a fuse in the line if that helps?

PIC C: Not what this cradle is for? It looks like a GPS cradle with a lead that is meant to plug into something, but the boat already has a good humminbird and a furuno sounder on it.

Any ideas?? thanks in advance- I know its probably something pretty obvious but its got me stumped

thanks in advance!

yes it is a gps cradle for a hand held gps. I have the same one myself . The cable and box is the 12 volt adaptor cable for it but the gps is also battery operated

usually the black plug is used to power a hand held spot light .. but without a great picture its hard to tell .. usually it has 2 pins - low voltage connector

Thats what I orginally thought... but theres no pins or metal contact points or anything on it...

I guess the best way to describe it is that it looks like a film cannister (but smaller in diameter) with one solid black plastic tube in the center of it thats about the the width of a bic biro but black in colour....

Will try and get a better pic of it tomorrow in the sunlight

The small black hole with the plastic dowel inside is an air temperature sensor.

I suspect you have a Merc on the transom. Smartcraft gauges have a barometer in them.

thanks alfred

yep, merc with smart guages so it must be the air temp sensor.

snapper- there is wires connected to it- one to the battery bar and the other goes somewhere up near the guages, so it makes sense that its the temp sensor

cheers for that guys
