Anyone tried the Berkleys Gulp

Hey All,
A BCF member told me to give Berklys Gulp a try(Nuclear Chicken) I was a bit hesitant at first but i caught a Herring!
Anyone else have any luck with these plastics?

you will find nearly everyone that uses the gulps!, has had success.
probably one of, if not the best plastics goin around.

not many fish wont smash a Gulp i rekon - landed some crackers using them in various places on various fish from dhuies to coral trout , reds jacks the works.... pilbara brad is even knocking the barras off with em!
i rate them very highly

Fully agree
On a Paternoster, put bait on the bottom, and using a plain hook put a Gulp on the top. The natural current, boats motion make the gulp work and more than often the fish is caught on the gulp.
Otherwise just use it as a true soft plakie with a jig head. Coral trout slayer sometimes.

Try the crabs
if they still have them in stock. Work a treat on lots of species.
I've caught KG's, Pinkies, Harlequin and Spangled Emporer using them.

I caught a couple of nice
I caught a couple of nice trout, then the next weekend caught a couple of nice barra, all on the nuclear chicken. I'm a full convert and i dont think i will use bait very much at all from now on.
I live with fear every day... sometimes she lets me go fishing.

Gulp 3" minnows are my favorite plastics, in the nuclear chicken colour. I use them at night for bream, as you can charge up the green side of them with your torch and they glow in the dark.

Berkley Gulp.
Mate, this plastics is killing the scene for me. Honestly I find them to get the fish feeding if the fishes are shutting down and not feeding. Well worth another crack I reckon. I've caught Tailor, Skippy, Tarwhine and some stoinking Herring.

Try this
Berley mix with added fishoil. Mix it into a paste consistency by adding pollard until it will sit nicely in your blob,/berley cage.
From the blob/cage run a meter of leader to the sharp end. Use anything you want on that. I personally like a crazy charlie fly but you can use just about anything including the trusty lummo straw about 1.5inches long (but then with a wide gape hook).
Berley like mad from the shore. Cast out, jerk the blob a little to let some burley out and then wind back at a steady pace. Soon you will see the follows and strikes.
Berley, Berley and berley is the key.
Good luck.
No joke if this fails add a few old rotten or soft bananas to the berley mix. Freeze them overnight and when they defrost they go mushy. The Potassium in them drives herring and gardies nuts for some reason. So much for the old saying bananas dont mix with fishing. I have tried Garden Potash for the potassium but the bananas works tons better.
Use to catch heaps in the cut this way. Personally dont like eating them so some kept as crab bait, most went back to find you hopefully.

nuclear chicken is the bomb, u got ur plastic on a jighead? ive caught 10 herring on 2 inches of the worm its good stuff. i just run it on a small running sinker rig 6lb flurocarbon n throw a bit of berley out by hand. no4 nitros is the jighead of choice. I havent put 2 jigheads on the rig yet but will give it a crack two thumper herring on my 1-3kg rod should be good fun.
