Is anyone using a Mackeral Esky And how do you find it?

Just looking at getting a new Esky for the boat for a upcoming trip. I am looking at a 200-250ltr Mackeral box as they are more rectangular than conventional boxes. Is anyone using them and are they sold in Perth?.

Your probably better off with the pelagic bags mate, small, compact and easy to store away until you get the fish your after.  Not sure on the prices though, but a lot of mates have them and they are pretty damn good.

Hadnt heard of them before, so looked them up. Damn, not cheap. Though, I guess not too bad compared to an esky, but really its just an insulated bag. Though, there may be copy brands which are more reasonable. I had a soft cooler bag in the car for transporting fish home. Works well. If you dont use it all the time, its good for not taking up much space.

picked up both pelaj and a glass esky after a major mishap with my trusty old ice box last week. I had wanted a good glass one for ages, and also a pelaj for days off perth when I want the space and could not be bothered lugging an esky. the Pelaj is great but the glass esky is a winner. I bought fish back drove straigh through and still rock solid frozen, whereas in my old plastic esky the edges of the vac seal would always be soft by the time we got back.

Yeh got a Pelaj Snapper bag in the tinny.

As u know theres not a lot of room in smaller boats. These bags take up F all space and hold ice for easily a days fishing.

Snapper bag is 1.2m long, and there is a size up from this

Was about $100-$120 from memory
