Bagged out on duhies
Went out on sunday with my mrs and bagged out on duhies well we would of if they were sized. We caught six 30cm duhies in the one spot and no they werent the same one. Luckily I had made a release weight the night before and it worked a treat better than paying twenty bucks for a piece of lead. It makes me wonder if the goverment is so worried about our fish stock's they should hand out release weights at boat ramps. Only had the boat for a month now but I am quiet suprised how many baby duhies are out there can any one tell me if it has always been like that. Also are duhies like most fish that when they Are small they all live in one area in plague proportions (nursery) and If your catching babies duhies in one area does it mean that mum or dad might be around as well. Does any one know the migration of a duhie where they go what time of year they come in close dont want 2 be catching them when there breading but would like to know what time of year to fish where. Any help would be appreciated

35km or 35m? 35km would put
35km or 35m? 35km would put you in 50's at least. Not unusual to get em there, (and closer). We had one day in January where we pulled 4 off the one drift in 32m for only one legal one (12kg). All others released strongly in that depth. Have been back and Nothing since...they can and do move.

using 7/0 and a variety of
using 7/0 and a variety of bait from fresh occy ,californian squid , fillets of wrass and parrot fish only got the one sized duhie yesterday but last week got 5kilo jew 4kilo snapper and four kilo baldchin oh and a small black arse. I think the reason for yesterdays lack of keepers was that it was the first time we took the camera on the boat but thats fishing isnt it.

Maybe you mean 20 to 25km?
35km out from point peron or Garden island and your in more then 45m of water! Kane i have a 5.5m boat and i go out 30km to the south west bank and past it.
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more serious than that!!!

yeah im fishing the 35-45 around the S/w bank 2 rodrat how have u been going out there lately the current is bloody strong out there is it always like that. PM message me if u want 2 head out a bit further with the two boats rodrat havent vetured much further than the 50 mark yet. Yeah kane im going out that far in the 5.2 genesis no worries in that thing mate its a wide boat 2.4 beam with a 90 on the back get out ther in 45mins going 30 knots on a calm day and about an 1hr20min going about 18 knots with a 15 knot wind blowing. This time of year u can pretty much live out there it was like a pond on sunday glassed off about two was bloody beautifull. Apart from the lack of fish.

Im pretty confident and happy with my weather reading ability...
But aaagh, thanks for the tip "Mr kaneo"
Ive seen some pretty hairy weather all around the world including out off the west end of rottnest back while serving in the navy.
Its not just a matter of reading the weather, (IMO) theres plenty of other factors, like if theres a breakdown and your stuck out there waiting to be rescued etc id rather be sitting in a larger boat than a smaller one.
Anyway thats another story, was simply curious if he was using his boat or not.
