Mashed cardboard
IMO, I would rather eat mashed up cardboard, but then again, if you can't get anything else they will have to do.

I steam
the flesh and make Thai fish cakes out of them, add a bit extra red curry and yummo.

Banded
sweep are ok to eat, a little soft in the flesh dept'which lends them to be grilled and not fried.
Some are just spoiled or fussy fks.

Banded Sweep versus Sea Sweep
I've experimented with both.
Sea Sweep are OK, not fantastic, but OK. I'd liken them to a Queen Snapper....certainly edible but nowhere like a Dhufish or Baldchin.
Banded Sweep are plain awful....don't be tempted to east one unless your desperate.
