OK, pretty darn cheap. At that price, I am willing to leave my boat at home and go out on the charter as long as we can charter the whole boat for ONLY artificals with fishwrecked guys - NO BAIT.
Should be fine, if they don't cough up then call Consumer Protection about it and they'll sort it out.
Otherwise it's just good to have in the bank I reckon... with 12 months to use it I'll keep it there and if the weather's looking good mid-week sometime in 5-6 months time I'll dig it out.
I work with one of Kyms (owner) best mates and can tell you he runs a good charter. He has only just got this boat which I think he picked up from Queensland after selling his last boat about a year ago.
As far as getting all these ticket holders out for a fish in a reasonable time frame I think he will be struggling, also any enquiries he gets over the next six months from normal advertising will be hard to fit in .
I think in the end there were 2000 coupons sold, times that by $100 bucks each its not bad for one days takings.
A lot of businesses shutting up shop after running one of these Scoopon deals, the money up front is great but servicing the clients later becomes tough when the money runs out.
$99 its cheep far a charter...never been on a souther cross. Unless it was like a ladsy meet up to get all members in, i wouldnt bother. CHeeper for me two get a deckie n head out wide on my own boat......IF the day pans out with minimal tackle loss... that is the KEY
Southern X is a effin good charter fella's, Kym is a good bloke running a slick operation & at $99 I wonder if he has gone mad!! Bloke holding up the big Dhu is a mate of mine & sometimes on here as 'Jiney' so I can verify that fish

Gonna be tough to get a spot
Gonna be tough to get a spot I would imagine.
My calculations suggest 100+ days are gonna be booked out.
Great value for $99 though and have sent it off to a few mates to see if they are keen.
Cheers

The two month demersal
The two month demersal ban makes it even worse. Will be great fun fishing with 20+ punters on the boat.

are these coupons
are these coupons transferable?
How are they going to patrol this as they do not have the authorithy to ask for indentification.
Some trading could develop somehow.

The fine print says you can purchase multiples as a gift, so I doubt transfer is an issue.

$99 to fish with another 29 people imo is not effin good. Guessing you fish 10 and get a line in the water every third drift.

I have bought a couple and will head out with a few mates.
Keen for an artificials day if we can get enough boys together (though as mentioned, they are probably stacking 50 to the boat).
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Just spoke to Kym (I think) he says he won't go out unless he has a full boat of scoopon goers which is 30 in the boat.
Not sure how big the boat is but sounds pretty crowded.

Hmmm, dont seem to mention that in the conditions....
I suspect a fair few coupons will never get redeemed for one reason or the other. Just a matter of what those reasons are and by whose side it is.
As always, always ask for availability before mentioning any discounts ;)
Btw: Anyone notice the species of fish in the picture at the bottom of the scoopon page? ;) I wonder how many of those are caught out of Perth...

I haven't seen more than 16 or so on a charter before.
I'll sell my two at a discount if anyone is buying!

You obviously missed the report,
it went pear shaped. Sleepswithfishes posted a report and the thread went from bad to worse then was deleted.
I think Adam is having a discussion with Southern X to get the full story then getting back to us.

Pretty sure on the scoopon it was said that there will be a minimum of 12 on a boat. But it seems that the number is actually 30.
Hopefully not though, when he told me 30 I was pretty disappointed.
