Bbq cray prep

Im just wondering is it better to split whole crays and clean out the crap in the head or just use the tails for bbqing? Also how long on the bbq should they take to cook? Last time I put a few on they seemed to take ages. Cheers

I normally put a large knife
I normally put a large knife through the head to kill then. Carefully remove the tail then split it down the middle. BBQ shell side down smothered in butter until the meat on the top edges starts to go white. Then flip over flesh side down to quickly finish it.

We cut in half and clean the
We cut in half and clean the head out, fill the head with garlic butter/ what ever you like to flavour them. Then cook on the bbq she’ll side down first for 8minute and the 3 minutes meat side down. That is for a just size cray. Also use baking paper on the bbq to stop the meat from sticking.

Pre boil
i normally part bout cray whole say 5 mins for me legal just over cray and then cool in cold water water split cray in half wash crap out normally cooked 3/4 through then can either BBQ straight away or put in fridge for cook up later in day.bbq shell side first for few mins and then meat side w garlic butter a couple mins basically re heating through finishes the cooking and a export

Hey mate I normally just use
Hey mate I normally just use the tail split down the middle .Mix up butter Garlic and Sweet Chilli sauce microwave it until runny ,cook shell side down (pour the mix onto the flesh) on medium heat until the flesh starts going Opaque then turn over for a minute or two the smoky flavour goes thru the flesh .

split tail in half
loosen meat from the shell grated cheddar cheese top and bottom soy sauce and butter place in the oven or BBQ , shell side down for 10 -15 minutes
