A cowboy operation!!! Charged a shit load for shipping then when the item turned up after well over 2 weeks the postage paid stamp on the parcel was a quater of the price paid and was for the cheapest option! The handling and packing does not cost that much we can all use the post office calc right? When I tried to contact them by phone email many many times still no reply.... Not impressed will never use them again, you have been warned.

A Great Business
Well, we all love happy customers, and we sure do have plenty of those. But, it is also good to have the opportunity to address the things that have gone wrong - nothing worse than not having the opportunity to fix a problem.
We are an innovative businesss, set up in Australia to give Aussies an Australian online supplier - convenient access to the best products, best possible prices, access to specialist advice online and reduced online shopping risk.
Shipping pricing has been a challenge for us - we launched with free shipping (shipping built into the price), then moved to flat-fixed price shipping for all goods, switched to automated Aus Post calcs, and are now back to a hybrid model - shipping is not a profit centre for us ... just a mechanism to make sure that our costs are covered.
Sometimes, things don't meet our customers expectations, I have investigated ThomasRick's order and made contact with him in an effort to resolve his concerns as best we are possibly able - and truly hope to have him back as a repeat customer again.
Please know that you can contact us by phone, email and on this forum if you have any questions, are looking for advice, or have a concern.
Please leave us on your 'shop with' list

not excuses
We made a mistake and are working hard to fix it - we want everyone to be satisfied and work to do that - this is one that slipped through.

So you're complaining about
So you're complaining about the price of freight? Surely you were quoted on the freight price before you accepted and purchased the goods? Just because Australia post charges x amount doesn't mean he has to charge the same price. What percentage was the mark up?

I think the point is
that he paid a premium for a faster post service (reading his post), and din't get that service that he had paid for regardles of what it cost or what he was quoted.

thnk he's saying he paid a certain cost for postage...lets call it $100 but when he got it delivered the "postage" paid sticker on the box stated $50....something to that effect.

Thats how I read it
except the $100 was say for express post (hence the remark about it taking well over 2 weeks), only to find that it went the cheapest option which takes longer. Fair gripe I say - if that's the case.

It's funny, everything I order from over east usually takes 10 days but if I order it from the uk it only takes 7 days from dispatch.
Fair gripe I'd say, but not a big issue to bury the guy

some contact from the business, strange that he's got it now.

Whats the outcome
ThomasRick, let us know the outcome and what if anything has been sorted, and please explain exactly your original gripe. Now you have contact, do you still feel the same way?

Keen to learn
We are not trying to make excuses - just want to build a business that works.
More than 40% of our customers come from the West, and ThomasRick's experience is not the norm. We do offer great prices, we have introduced a 'feedback' form on the site to avoid email ending up in the spam file (which is what appears to have happened in this case) - and are truly looking to improve the comms around shipping.
We select our gear - test it to be sure its only stuff we'd use not just stuff we make a margin on - negotiate a price with the supplier and then work to make it available at below the price you'd get it offshore.
Keep the feedback and comments coming - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

A fair gripe and now my issue
A fair gripe and now my issue has been resolved with this company, the difference in postage has been paid back. Communication issues for future customers have been highlighted and hopefully should be sorted as well.
Hey any press is good press right……

My issues all along was the communication black hole and what brodie and paully had figured out with the postage was in my opinoin fair. I wasnt hasty on posting on this forum I gave plenty of due warning and attempted to contact via every means possible. There are obviously some issues that still need to be ironed out for advetnure safety but if they can fix it up they will have a corner of the market sorted. Its hard to completely trust a company that biffs you around but now that said issues have been highlighted and can be fixed for future customers its now up to you guys to shop or not..... The internet and in particular forums are amazing for this sort of communication. I am at peace with Jeff and his fast action on this once we overcame the communciation issues. Never bagged out the product, my spinlock pfd is sick!

I'm sorry but i have to ask, are you a site sponsor adventuresafety ?
If not, then this whole thread apears to be just a great way to promote your business on a public forum. ( IMO ) I understand you have the right to defend yourself after the comments made by ThomasRick, but to plug your site on here might be seen as commercial selling or advertising.
If you are a sponsor then i apologise for my comments,

Grant your knocking them for promoting on here-but what about the bloke who registered on here solely (it appears to me) to dig at a business?

Just asking
Just asking a question Rob, The whole thread seemed suss to me. As you said the member who started the thread ( who has been on here for 30 weeks) has had very little input besides this thread, he was having a go at a business didnt sit well with me, i just didnt mention that because i feel he still has the right to complain ( vent )
Then the business signs up to reply to the complaint ( fair enough to defend themselves ) But then starts promoting and making offers to site members.
I have looked at the site and it appears to be quite good and legit, im sure many people from FW will buy items from them after all the promotion on here.
Just my two cents and if i offended anyone i'm sorry, but i thought the question should be asked .

Site sponsor or not, it looks like a nice website, good concept, good products and I was impressed by their offer of free shipping to keep everyone happy.
I will buy from them.

The moral of the story...
is for all businesses to be aware that in the new age of social media a single disgruntled customer has plenty of ways to share his opinions with thousands of others and they shouldn't be surprised when poor service results in them doing so. Well done for reporting this issue. The more problems that get reported the better sevice we'll all get in the long run.

Priority post
A lot depends on where you live as to how long things take to be delivered.
Here in Carnarvon they sell you priority post bags etc that cost extra but in effect they still get delivered in the same amount of time as per normal post.
If you look on ebay and you will see goods going for next to nothing but the postage will be approx what the thing is worth while the next ad for the same thing will be postage free and the price will be the same as the previous articles postage cost. Like the story goes, what you miss on the roundabout you pick up on the swings.

New member yes, but not suss
New member yes, but not suss and just do a lot of reading and not much posting..... Crazy mad keen fisho who lives Carnarvon, nothing wrong with that right and yes if I have beef with a company its wise to share this important info with like minded people. Understand Carnarvon post takes longer just not that long ps. Tut tut to adventure safety for hijacking this thread to sell, not what this was all about. Think we are done here.

Might be a very nice gesture and show of genuine good will for Adventure Safety to become a site sponsor. As they say you gotta spend a few $ to make some.

Had an item sent over from Queensland mail free. Waited 2 weeks for it to arrive.
Found out from Aust Post that all parcels unless stated come by Road transport .
