Still as good chewing when there that big got my first Dhuie yesterday a tad under 10 kg and was bloody beautiful but I've heard when they get big the flesh is a lot greyer and not as nice ? I know if they are still good you won't need to catch another one for weeks with the amount of flesh you get of them.
Flesh was white and looked fine - ill let u know. I would normally release a fish that big, but it had suffered from barotrauma and would not have released well. I always spike my fish and put them on an ice slurry, but this one would not fit in the esky!
Great fish,you will be hard pressed to beat that. Your right they wont taste as good as say the under 13kg models but Dhuie is Dhuie and even the big ones rate well in the taste department , well done.
No bullshit maybe could of been, that's a big fish, 22.5kg official. Fished the last two days for lack of size, exception being some big blackarse biggest being 47cm today.
