Was targetting a resident spinning whaler, so not only big gear but also steel trace leader about 10m long. Spinners wrap the leader around themselves when they jump so need a LONG strong windon.
Drag was set very low to allow it to run with the bait, and this lil red attacked a bait and hook designed for a much bigger target, and pulled a little drag off the Stella. He should be proud of that alone!!! LOL
The Samurai is in the L rod holder and you can just see the edge of the Stella handle, so yes, Big gear.
