Fark that, I was gonna go tomorrow. I'll spend that money on lunch somewhere else instead.

Any freebies?

Could you make the $18 up in free food, drink or kids rides?

$18 does seem out there.

 Haha are you kidding me.

Haha are you kidding me. Have you seen the size of the setup, whats involved, the staff, security?

No it was never free at Araluen but cheaper due to less overheads.

There is alot of free stuff and we dont charge to sample any of our products. But im sure the boat show dont charge either to take one of the many boats on display out for a spin. And to think they are not there to sell either...

Admission has increased by

Sun, 2014-03-09 09:18

Admission has increased by 20% from last year $15 to $18 with 25'000 punters last year that's $450'000 . No idea on the breakdown of overheads , but that's a fair bit of coin for essentially stall holders apparently trying to breakeven in promoting their wares . The Perth Royal shows only a little more at $24 per adult .

Free admission to the Mandurah Crabfest next week and they average 130-140'000 punters , I would think that's a win win situation for both stall holders and families looking for a day out IMO .

Are you a tight arse peter??

Sun, 2014-03-09 19:38

Are you a tight arse peter?? Working in the Pilbara for the last thirty years and all your tax issue's $18 should be f*** all to you! A couple of people want sell a few chilli's and you are trying to bag the shit out of the show! How much money do you think there is in selling chilli's. Obviously you have to much time on your hands. Most people spend $18 on two beers or on a couple of glasses of wine or a meal for two at hj's.

 And why is that?? Maybe

Sun, 2014-03-09 23:09

And why is that?? Maybe because more people go to the crab fest therefore they can charge more for the stalls?? What about the local council and government also providing funding for each event!! Also majority of the people would prefer to eat crabs than chilli. You don't have to be Einstein to work that out.

You don't like being ripped off ? Then why do you whinge about paying your fair share of taxes. By not doing so you would be ripping the government and the rest of us off.

If you cant afford the entrance fee then don't go. Go for a walk in the park instead.
