this change if passed will be the thin edge of the wedge to also in time ban catch and release style fishing
all these groups/gov people need is to have fish/crustaceans etc , legally recognised as feeling any form or % of pain and it will be inevitable imo that many forms of fishing will be banned or made to be a criminal offence
when ffs will thay take stronger action against the violence etc going on in our communities ??
thats the real concern for most people out there , not if you boiled a cray or not .......
It would be just another example of an unenforceable law. The greenies can go home pat themselves on the back thinking they've saved the world, meanwhile nothing would actually change.
Is dying instantly in boiling water any better or worse than dying slowly on ice, or slowly suffocating to death out of the water?
What would they have us do if you were camping? Usually I ice slurry crays but not marron or gilgies, as I don't have the room for all of the ice.
It feels like society is being continuously pushed and molded into a group of sheep that is dependant on purchasing and not being self sufficient and to be too tolerant.
Do younthink our grandfathers wouldv'e put up with a bloke they knew was knocking over houses and selling the proceeds to buy drugs living in their street? They would've been told to f66k off and ostracised from the community, but these days we put up with it. The world is getting soft and our quality of life is getting pissed on as a result.
When society considers feelings to be more important than outcomes, we're fooked.
Could never be policed. I drown mine in fresh water anyway before cooking, I guess that and putting to sleep in the freezer is next on these fucktards list.
When I catch what ever shell fish I drop them into an ice slurry, I think it helps keep the flesh in top condition, I also do the same for fish.
The loonies are looking at running the asylum, it would be an unenforceable restriction and I don't think (hope) that the present government will even think of going down that road.
I also drop my sized crabs into ice slurry, not a twitch or a dropped crab claw when they go into the crab cooker. Besides how they hell could they enforce it.
