Not good to hear. Funny thing was, I was there 2 weekends ago from 4am till 3pm. When I went to get the car, I saw that the back window was open and thought I had been broken into. Turns out I had left it fully open. So that is one way to ensure you don't get broken glass
Used to deliberately leave the windows open on our cars here in Karratha. Bloody kids would try 2-3 times a week to break into your car looking for a few coins.
Just leave them open with nothing valuable for them to find.
Little bastards get everything handed to them for free, but they still gotta steal from us
gez doooma i dunno what i would do if i found that on me front seat haha, dunno wether to feel privliged that some one loved me cruzer more than me haha
There is one thing I would like to give them, that's a good old fashion belting across the backside with a cane. But of course we can't do that, it might mentally scar them for life or some other crap. Funny that there are no mentally scarred kids in Singapore that I've heard of, but there is a well used rattan cane. Funny about that.
I see in the paper and on the news that the coppers are going to go back to "good old policing" now does that mean that when they come across young Johnny breaking into a car or a house they are going to dish out a bit of "old fashioned summary justice" that will leave him with a bright red ear a head ache and a life long memory of not to do that again. We can only live in hope
Or chain a bloody feral dog in the car so when the bastards break in they loose a few fingers or a hand then let the little bastards have a whinge minus a face because the dog tore it off
I fisrt heard about the Woodman's point car break-ins back in 2004, from my brother who went to have a nice evening fishing there and ended up with his windows smashed; and I'm sure it had already been
going on for a long while before that. Ever since then I've regularly heard about the car break-ins from fishos, and I never fish there myself for that same reason.
It's depressing that nothing has been done to put an end to this repeated vandalism/theft.
first happened to me in 1998, never again the area just attracts scum. I live NOR these days but if I was using the ramp to launch I would definately be in the power boat club for extra security and ease of launching
Some one should start a business Woodmans point car park security, just 5 - 10 bucks a car and then the person can stake out the cars in the cover of darkness until the lil turds reveal themselves then bam! Break their little hands, or maybe take an earlobe, something to mark them as a little thieving fuck stains they are.
oh and when going to get the car and trailer his mate got abused by a car load of people, so u carnt walk to a car now with someone gutless dowg having a go, whats the place coming to
Bugger thats no good, we used that ramp on friday night all night from 6pm till about 9am Sat with no dramas. Lucky I guess. Normally I use the Cockburn club as I'm a member there with my boat, but we went out in my brother inlaws boat this time. I used to use the public ramp quite a lot previous and never had anything happen, but often seen broken glass near other cars so that's when I became a club member.
been to rockingham, point peron boat ramp seven times in as many weeks only to return on each occasion to find something missing,my c.b arial was taken but the annoying thing was that it was replaced by the thiefs broken one, also my plastic bearing buddy hub covers at 4 bucks a pack its a joke,i have had my spotlight covers taken and an attempt to take spotlights was also made, now this aint no little kids this is someone looking for a one way ride in my boat and chained to one of my spare anchors,so a warning to the culprits,i have come up with a few of my own stratagies,so if you touch my landcruiser and receive a body crippling shock,i will be the good guy that helps you up,helps you in and helps you out of my boat when where about 20 mile offshore, then I will see what you can take out there.............
I know fellas but this is the best security around to go fishing, we are still looking for members. CCTV cameras, hard stand for your boat if you want to leave it at the club good rates for the hard stand if a full member. Bosun lives on premises, safe area to leave your boat for a couple of days if going to GI or Rotto.
Just a thought fellas when you consider next door to Woodies Public ramp where cars get broken into, is the CPBA with excellent floating ramps, wash down area for boat etc, stay over night at the pens.

Totally agree Roberta on the CPBA benefit, I really enjoy the place and a little price to pay for a little piece of mind. I was wondering with all the attempts of car damage and breakins, are they done on all type of cars or just ones that take their interest.. like landcurisers etc...
but what about the people who can only afford to fish from the ammo jetty. That's where I want to be able to park and fish without the vandalsim and theft. Heard so many stories over the years about smashed windows and stolen items from that car park that I never take the risk. Wish someone would catch them and cut their hands off.
I fished the Floreat drain for years and never had a problem.
Empty the car and boot of any thing not nailed down, including the spare, and leave it unlocked. Had the glove box and console emptied on the floor a couple of times but never any damage.
we,ll sorry to have to debate the fact about joining another club to keep ourselves and our property safe guys, but don't you think, johno in particular that society has no respect regardless what sort of car you drive,i might add its a 1996 model, and its all ive got given the fact im a carer for disabled people,i think that it is the guilty ones that should have a good look at themselves, because I can tell you, that just like you,we have worked hard to have what we enjoy and god help any little disrespectful young terd gets caught near my car,god help him, fishing and boating are becoming one of the last frontiers of an enjoyable pastime we can enjoy on our own if we wish, or with our family, dont let these litte shits take we,ve worked for ,be vigilant and you may save on bait money..
On the money Seadog. This makes blood boil, if it's not yours fucking well leave it alone. I can't even leave my car on my front verge for fear of it getting a window smashed and ransacked which has happened a couple of times over the last few years. I live in EVP and it's a not a bad suburb apart from the cruising slime. Like you I've worked bloody hard and a lot of what I have are things I've aspired for since I was a kid. Set up a proper boot camp like they have in the states and teach the arseholes some respect.
I'll give you little insight to what happens when the police do catch them,as I have this from experience.
Point Peron carpark is also bad for vehicle break in's. It got so bad that the police carried out a "stakeout" and spent quiet some time there, they ended up arresting the cultprits.
It went to the lawcourts, and as reported in the local newspapers three week later, the judge describe this as a "nuisance crime" ,and handed down warnings.
The only way to get justice these days is to get it for yourself. The courts will do nothing so perhaps it's time for a few of the crew that fish these areas regularly to get together & sort the problem out? Pretty sure with the imaginitive people on here it would be no problem to scare the crap out of whoever is doing it without actually breaking any laws (or bones) so that they pull thier heads in.
like the rest of you I no longer have trust in the justice system and am becoming very concerned at the blazen attitutde of these bastards. Over the last 2 months we have had everyone of our companies cars and some of the staffs personal cars broken into all at different spots around Perth. This includes suburbs including vic park, Joondalup, doubleview and balcatta. In one instance they drove into a 'secured parking' at 10 in the morning and smashed the ute window in with a crowbar. The ute (new) has montion sensors inside which set the alarm off and some people over the road were able to get a full description and rego before they got away. Rang the cops for an update, who said the best thing to do was to buy the people who saw it chocolates, as they were looking for the car, but it was probably stolen.
In most instances where they stole cards they quickly went from service station to service station using the 'tap and go' payment system (upto $100) to drain the cards with no need for a pin or signature.
This is not the cops fault, they dont have the power or resources to police every bloody street, its a generation of kids and young adults who have not been disciplined by their parents or society. They have zero respect for anyone, anything or their community.
Totally agree with the previous comments, these wankers need to know what its like to be scared of stuffing up. There was nothing wrong with getting the cane at school. Bring on Boot camp, public floggings -whatever, just dont put them into the prisons as they are coming out far more educated in all the wrong things.
Anyhow, lets hope we can get back to the days of being able to leave at least some bloody thing in the boat overnight. The fkrs must walk around with a 1000pc sidchrome set.
First time fishing woodies i had a mates girlfriends brand new car lose all its windows and side panels.. bunch of young blokes on scooters...funny how they do the damage and don't hang around? gutless ....

I am going to regret saying this (thanks "Murphy") but I have done a lot of fishing at floreat and never had any problems. I just make sure that I open the centre console and my glovebox prior to locking the car.

I would pay a considerable sum, to catch a couple of these cunts in the act.
I would also place a considerably large bet, that after I was finished with them, they would never do it again.

Justice System
is at fault..........................No deterrant............................No remedy.
I feel for the coppers and of course the victims, but the cops are doomed if they don't and doomed if they do via the courts.
In house management is and will always be the answer, or maybe follow the fkrs home and give them an unsuspecting taste of their own.
