Breakfast of champions!

Myself and a mate nailed a lazy 10 in an hour and in fishing terms "left them biting". Most were around this size (~150mm carapace) with a few bigger ones.

Was good just to get back in the water, hadn't done it in ages.

the water was sensational, I didnt even bother with a wetsuit, and the visibility was also great.

There seems to be a lot of crabs around this year. I know they have been hammering my baits.

around woodies. plenty about so you can afford to be a little picky and take the bigger ones.

Nice Feed

Mon, 2009-12-21 06:52

Can't beat a fresh feed of bluey's Huggy, went for snorkel myself Sat down Woodies. Managed a few, sent the missus to shops for a loaf of fresh white bread and dined on crab sandwiches for lunch...sen-bloody-sational.

sun up and sundown are the only times I snorkel.

When the sun is up they tend to bury in the weed making them a bit harder to find.

you'd be surprised

some of the bigger ones were in 1.5m or so. I reckon the deepest I swim in is around 3m, maybe 4m? Regardless, pretty shallow.
