Brownlow Medal

Seen on the news that they want to change the criteria for the Brownlow and Rising Star medal selection now that a few of the top players have been suspended for various offences.
The medals stand for the FAIREST and Best player, not just the best player and if tis is dne it makes a mockery of all those who have missed out in the past 70odd years since its inception.

I reckon 55 of the last 70
I reckon 55 of the last 70 Brownlow medallists would be ineligible if we retrospectively applied today's penalties to incidents they were invloved in the year they won.

Reported
Kept his"actions" hidden from the umpire as there was only one back then and there was no playbacks or big screens at the grounds for him to consider after the game when doing their votes

Exactly how Diesel Williams
Exactly how Diesel Williams won 2 of them! I know blokes who played when he was with Carlton in the 90's and they reckon he was bloody good at punching guys in in the middle of a pack. Suspended for 34 matches and guilty 3 times of vberbally abusing an umpire. Lucky to even win 1 Brownlow!
