Yeah frozen pork blood mixed with old mulies and oil,dump all into a hessian sack and stake it to the beach in the wash with a star picket. Lost a beach rod this way years ago when it got dragged out of the rod holder and vanished into sea. Dont do it on busy beach swimmers may get paranoid LOL
Hey with the hessian sack thing - I tried this once, and after about 2 hours I found that the sack was just full of sand, and half buried. I think the sand was working its way into the sack through the hessian, but not working its way out again.
Is this due to the type of sack I used? Or do most people have this happen? Just seems that once the sack is full of sand (and your burley under the sand) that nothing much will come out anymore?
I have found that if you lift your sack up out of the sand every now and then it will not fill up with sand. Try adjusting your sack every half hour or so, giving it a jiggle will also help spread the burley.
Go direct to the abbatoirs if you can, they can normally help you out without the butcher's markup. If you know a good local butcher, sometimes they can be a good way to go. I've used blood several times with little success LB to be honest - if the sharks are around a bit of oil in the water has the same affect. Depends what you are after though I guess.

you can buy dried and powderd
you can buy dried and powderd blood from some rural stockfeed suppliers, its called bloodmeal. just mix it with water and youve got instant blood!
