Hillarys

Are you allowed to fish inside Hillarys? Like on the boardwalk near The Breakwater or infront of Hippo Creek etc. ?

I see multiple schools of large whiting swimming around at night and heaps of silver trevally in the day time and sometimes at night, I've never seen anyone try to fish them?

well there is signage stating no fishing off the boardwalk so there is your answer. personally i wouldnt eat anything out of 'diesel bay' its a cesspit imo.

casting off the beach near the dolphin statue would get you amongst it.

or just wait for jeffree......

 the security at hillarys are

the security at hillarys are quite cool with you fishing there as long as you dont make a mess with bait etc. i've had the security guys chat with me when they were bored and just watched me fish, and one of em is a keen fisho.

although when it gets busy around the broadwalk, it wouldnt be a good idea casting too much, might hook someone.

but yeh, there are some monster whiting there. i got two the other night measured 40cm and one measuerd 38cm, and i've seen them even bigger when snorkleing!

you will be suprised at what fish u find in there. one year i was at the breakwater having a few drinks and i saw two blokes catching tailor after tailor around 65cm. i was amazed. i also caught a juvi YTK around 1kg.
