Been reports on the radio about nomads who drove in to town to see what was going on have found themselves stuck there unable to get back to their camps at Cleaverville and 40 Mile beach with all the dirt roads closed or flooded.
Was camped in Jane Bay on Ningaloo years back when they got 8 inches of rain over 2 days, the numbers of them who ignored radio broadcasts not to leave the tracks to drive around puddles and got severely bogged was mindboggling. Took up to a week to get some out when it dried out enough to get close enough to get a rope to their cars.
fishing will be stuffed for a few days, if it's not the rain it's the bloody wind anyway but i'm happy for it to blow for the next 4 weeks while my boat gets no attention from me due to other apparently more pressing issues like work and family get in the way!
235mm in about 36 hours is bloody unreal, been through 150mm in a day and that was bad enough
Got a full tank of fuel that needs me to use up...its been a while...plus got to try the new toys...Gopro 3 and Raymarine dragon fly...come on weather sort it out!
Tried a splash and dash last weekend but got stopped looking at the ramp...no water...dam it got my tide wrong...made up for it by towing a chap out of the sand for a carton which my mate and I used up watching the Lions Wallabies game.
Took the boat out for a spin of boat beach today...chucked a couple of baits out but as expected did not catch any more than a cold...see was rolling in round the tug break water pretty awesome...knew it was going to be poor but it had been awhile without being reckless just needed to get the juices flowing back on the water...
