The Busso Jetty Report 30-12-12
Fishing on the jetty has picked up quite considerably over the past 2 weeks. The good news is the Bonito are finally back after quite a few years of no show. If you are after a few they are on the bite on the second half of the jetty in the evening just after the sun goes over the horizon. Make sure you are there on that time though since they run for only about 10-15 mins. If you can pull yourself out of bed before sunrise the Bonito can also be caught then. I have been using Rapala X-Rap's colour Crystal Ghost to catch them, Smilin Jacks have also been working well. Good sized tailor around 40cm have also turned up in the early evening with larger ones around 50cm in the morning. The best place for the tailor at the moment is around the halfway point. Pike and snook are still around in good numbers and can be found anywhere along the length of the jetty, some large ones can be landed right on sunset. Herring are quite thick with some very good sized ones in the mix, anywhere past the bend is good for them. Squid numbers are still a bit down for this time of year however some monsters are floating around here and there, you may have to work a bit to get them. Crab numbers on the jetty seem to be a bit down since they have been heavily fished over the past weeks, you are better off going to the beach down the road a bit and scooping them.
Side note : If you are heading down to fish the jetty leave the burley at home, there was so much burley in the water from tourists yesterday that the slick stretched a good 100mtrs past the end of the jetty. Too much burley ruins the fishing and makes them go off the chew.

7 tailor and 2 bonito tonight between me and my fishing buddy. The tailor were all around 48-49 cm.....a good way to break in the new year.

Jetty Rat cheers for this great report , between my dad and myself we caught 27 legal tailor over 3 nights. We fished around half way near number 180 biggest tailor i got was 51 cm. Managed to get quite a few herring as well on a piece of green straw. So once again thanks for the report.

MOst of them have been
MOst of them have been between 40 - 50 cm with the odd 50+ in the mix. Our crew caught about 70 tailor this week of which I landed about 30. It has been a good week of tailor fishing that's for sure, they should get bigger over the next few weeks too so fun times ahead.

just to let every1 on here know i fish with TJR 90% of the time hes a good mate,ne reports he puts on here are 100% correct,so if u wana know how to catch em honestly,listen to his info,he out fishes me everytime,haha,but im kool with that,lastnite he didnt catch nething till bout 10pm,but when he did it was a 62cm greenback,lol,biggest that nite!!
