prawns
coles and woolies have been having some really good specials on prawns of late.
i have bought king prawns and bananas, and seen tigers, all for around the $16-17 dollar a kg mark. the kings were from WA, were awesome, and hadnt even been frozen. the bananans had been frozen, but were in excellent condition, and from QLD.
i would steer away from their crays though. i saw some on the weekend that were $15 each, and stated that they were this seasons, but certainly didnt look it....
sealanes had cooked crays from before this season had started, and were $42 each....

I've never gone wrong buying
I've never gone wrong buying from Seafresh in Innaloo. They are a bit on the pricey side but you pay for quality right? But that's probably not much help being NOR. I've never had bad seafood from Kailis down in Freo either but same again with the price. I would always rather pay $30kg for good prawns than $20kg for shit ones but!!!
I think this time of the year, so many prawns get sold everywhere that there is a good chance of getting them pretty fresh. I have never had good prawns from Coles or Woolies but I have never bought them from there at this time of the year. They always taste like they've been defrosted for at least a few days and probably frozen for a few months before that???
I fish for the future - Cause I can't bloody catch anything!
