Police at Ramp
A reliable source advised of a strong police presence at Hillarys ramp today, with the target being groups of more than two.
Aslo reported that Fisheries are active checking licences on the water to ensure that "family guidelines" are being followed on vessels.

Yeah had to do a site visit and swung by Hillarys on the way. The carpark looked like a reasonable Saturday for this time of year with all the empty trailers

Don't fish i say... so maybe more fish for me?
I bet one person in your family has been to the supermarket (Aldi/IGA's) and purchased something. You have breached the rules at that supermarket as you have gone through a checkout and been within 1.5mtrs of a person. Furthermore that person has touched every item you have purchased as they have scanned it.
same with uber's? don't know who touched the handle of the door before you? but that is acceptable and ok to operate, transact.
Interesting if the fisheries go on their boat, two people don't live in same house? they have breached the rules..... clearly they shouldn't be on the water, are they essential?
Interesting how one city in China with more then 20m people (Shanghai) can have smaller deaths and less infections as Australia....

would a communist regime that tried to cover up the initial source and size of the problem now be lying about the number of deaths outside wuhan ?

Jeez, are you swallowing Trumps' bullshit?
He is trying anything to deflect attention from his appalling early lack of action and just plain executive incompetence. Yes the WHO were a little slow in actually formally declaring it a pandemic--so what. the writing was on the wall by Chinese New year in January. He was being warned, was not listening. Have you already forgotten his lines from only a short while ago--" it's like only one person out of China" " like magic, one day it will just disappear" " it's just the flu" "liberal hoax" " fake news" ad nauseum. As the fatalities built up. Aided and abetted by his cheerleaders on Fox News and the like, he will be directly responsible, via his lack of early action, for tens of thousands of avoidable deaths. Picking fights with Democrat governors who were struggling with no resources and a rapidly rising death toll. When this started to take off, I bet that they could go as high as a half-million dead, and I stand by that. This crisis has exposed , to Americans, just how weak and ineffectual their country has become. Just how close to poverty the majority of their country is, how a strong stock market does not actually equate to a strong economy--too many people thought they were the same thing. A corrupted healthcare system which only works for the rich, or those lucky enough to have healtth care attached to their employment. Which ten disappears when you are laid off, as millions have been. They have been divided, and weakened, and he just came along and exploited, and continues to exploit this, for his own ends and the country is far the worse for it. "Coastal elites" vs " the heartland" east vs west, north vs south, Conservatives vs liberals, and that is without even getting into skin colour. Or the Second Amendment. Aided and abetted by a Republican party so far removed from its roots as a laudable political institution, a party only interested in raw power and lining their own pockets.
They are royally fucked, and only just starting to realise it. How has a once great country come to this? They will have fatality rates comparable with 3rd world countries --the sort of places that their Orange Buffoon has referred to as " shitholes" . Trump is doing everything he can to avoid responsibilty, while hpoing that it won't be as bad as it could have been, whereupon he will claim the " victory" as his. He is a science-denying, lying, theiving, gaslighting incompetent, "fortunate son" POS who deserves to rot in jail for the rest of his life. And that's just for what he did BEFORE he came to office.
It's been interesting watching the opinions shift on a particular demographic as reality sinks in. I follow the Amercian boating forum THT, massive readership and post volume. Very focussed on the south east and Florida, where they tend to be very conservative. It went from following Trumps lines to "WTF is happening" , and everyone knows someone who has died. In the course of just a couple of weeks. Great wakeup call.
Oh, and a final thought. When the billionaires want you to go back to work, no matter what personal risk to you, it becomes obvious who makes them their money. You do, and they are screwed without you. Funny how the most "essential" workers are largely the lowest paid.

lets all play hypothetical
lets all play hypothetical
just imagine if china was to sail down the china straight and start to invade countries like Singapore and us ??in say about 4-6 weeks time ??
how well placed would we be and our major allies to stop that from being successful ??
might sound extreme ,
but think about it for a sec
in worlds current state who would help us and how mnay days would it take before we had to surrender ??
that should get it to 5 pages lol
but seriously , is it an impossible scenario?

China invade us, why
They have already taken over the country, just have a think about how much they own of Australia, why would they want to use moor earth and most probably wreck some of the infrastructure and loose a few lives.
They have brought the place lock stock and banrrel, and don't blame them, who sells them the factories, the stations the ports, the real estate. The good Australian citizen who gets blinded by the dollars China waves in front of them, and who can blame them. When the government says no you can,t sell them that all the lobbyists descend on canberra and hound the government to do a back flip if they want to in power.
Its good for the economy we are told all that good foreign investment stuff the people not having access to the great out doors or beaches or rivers.

bit of info on this in the link here 2018
https://www.dfat.gov.au/trade/resources/investment-statistics/Pages/statistics-on-who-invests-in-australia
the biggest single land holder behind the gov is aboriginal land councils ,
why ?? would they want to invade ??
simply because an opportunity could present itself for the taking
these types of big picture world power shift strategies are long time in the planning ,
lots of different scenarios would be modeled imo
there long game players ..so why would they not ''take ''it instead of buying it ?

The carpark at Ocean reef was
The carpark at Ocean reef was full, however everyone seemed to be practicing safe social distancing practices. Most deckies were waiting on boats for the skipper and there was about 15m between any 2 people standing on the Jetty.
I'm making this statement of my observations as there seems to be an assumption by some that if the car park is full, people must be in close contact. Therefore ramps should be shut down.
There was far more congestion along the walking path along the coast and those waiting for their 'essential' coffee at 2 different cafe's I drove past. Is it essential to go boating/fishing? Maybe, maybe not. It is good Friday and many do not eat meat. Is it better to go line up at the fish and chip shop tonight, or go to the shops to buy fish? Personally, I feel that fishing/boating today is the safest way to provide seafood for the family tonight... As long as social distancing practices are strictly adhered to.

Can only comment on what I
Can only comment on what I saw, at a single ramp, during the small time I took to launch and retrieve... and compared it to what I am regularly seeing along the coast with walkers, those in desperate need of a coffee, going to the supermarket or fish and chip shop. Fishing and boating is not the issue, it's those who are ignoring the social distancing rules... regardless of the activity they choose to do whilst ignoring the rules.

Absolutely spot on. I
Absolutely spot on. I haven't taken the boat out the last few weekends, trying to do the right thing. Go for a drive (staying in car) down the coast, and it's as busy as it's ever been, not much care for social distancing at all, almost like a punch in the guts and think should have taken the boat out. Then you see on the news last night the government has liked what they have seen at the beaches and on the coast and praising people for keeping there 1.5m.
Personally I don't think there should be a ban on boating, just adhere to social distancing while boating, as above it's crazy how frowned upon people are getting for boating considering every other social activity going on, on land that no one is blinking an eye to.

Similar experience today. I
Similar experience today. I have been avoiding taking the boat out, but just went and did some groceries, and people were oblivious. I normally go early Monday morning, so had to go today due to the public hol. Went to a different shops, and saw different families just standing in the aisles having conversations, mums and dads with 3 kids in tow all doing the shopping, people reaching over or under me to get stuff, and I had to ask the person in the checkout behind me to back off.
makes resisting the temptation to go fishing much harder, when so many people have obviously been living under a rock.

Yeah yeah selthy everyone u seen was doing the right thing... I parked down at ramp... yes I know I’m not meant to do that as it’s not essential travel but wanted to have a peek. I was thinking of going for a fish tommorow as I was in the opinion that fishing should be ok. After today u can stick that up ur arse. I don’t give a fuck if ppl wanna go out but I’m not.
