Coal Mine Beach

Hi All
We're off to Coal Mine Beach over Christmas and New years with the Polycraft. Haven't been before and so I've been doing a fair bit of reading through the forums - thanks for the info. Just wondering if anyone can get me started with a few spots fairly close-ish to the caravan park where the kids might be able to catch a few. There'll be 4 kids from the two families and so the attention span is not long.
Thanks
Ben

Have a walk along the jetty
Have a walk along the jetty with some polaroids on, sometimes bream and whiting hanging around there. Also the town jetty (behind the motel) usually has bread n butter species. Take a crab scoop and a torch, walk along coalmine beach at night and search the shallows, often get a few crabs running around. Sandy beach is also worth a shot, if you're not catching anything its a nice place for the kids to have a swim. The river mouth is apparently the spot for whiting, I havn't tried there but. Good luck, will be down there just after new years myself.

Thanks for the info guys,
Thanks for the info guys, that should definitely get us started.
We're in a white 6m Polycraft and our camp site is one of the closest to the boat ramp I think. So if you're down there between the 23rd Dec and the 4th Jan I'll probably be seeing you.
Cheers
