Cockburn Sound

Hey fellow fishers,
headed out into Cockburn Sound early this morning. Headed south of Garden Island where the bridge is, heard there was ok squidding there-no joy. Moved around a bit, baby flathead but nothing else. Was rigging another line up and something ran with my line that was in the water, snapped all my gear off, felt pretty big.
Am I doing it all wrong ? Did any one else have any joy today?

Squid
If your after squid than there has been plenty holding on the east side of the sound in 2-5m and plenty in Owen Anchorage in the 4-8m depths. The More up market jigs will typically catch more and last longer too. In saying that if your just after a small feed the cheaper jigs will work.
