Agree completely. But
Agree completely. But taxpayers need to understand that the $13k fine in this instance no where near covers the cost of a surveillence operation needed to catch the crooks. But that is the price of justice. And that is why public exposure of the incidents where offenders are caught needs to be maximised so the deterent factor is also maximized. .....
If you think you can just get away with it, remember.... There is always a chance someone is watching

good result,
but the penalties need to be extremely harsher. take their house, boat and car. they knew what they were doing.

good to see
1 QUESTION ,WHERE ARE THE FINES FOR THOSE CAUGHT TAMPERING WITH DRUM LINES.seen pictures of people with them on beach(art my a--) seen pics of people with them in boats , that many crabs undersize or over should be banned for life ,never hold a licence, take a walk down mandurah most weekends and have a look for yourself in some peoples buckets.its a joke, few years back a group got caught down mandurah with plucked pelicans in boot and heap of tiny crabs,,,(no no big duck) .

You've seen all these
You've seen all these things? I take it you've reported them to fisheries and been willing to get up in court and testify? Many people choose not to. Turn a blind eye. Which means fisheries select a target based on the available intelligence and spend their resources based on what they know. Everyone can add to what they know by reporting stuff.

fair result but could be better
could have and should have taken the boat that he used and the vehicle that he
Used to tow the boat to the ramp.
Could have and should have publicised this much better, with a photo and full
address of the fu[<#er as a deterrent.
Should have barred him from holding any sort of fishing licence for a long time.
Put me in charge of it, I'll sort em out.
