Cray diving around meelup/castle rock
Submitted by wildinp on Mon, 2009-12-07 07:44
Are there many cray found around the rocks at eagle bay/meelup/castle rock area? Thinking of heading down that way for a kayak and dive on sunday week. Never gone for crays before and just got the licences sorted for me and the old man. Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah hamelin bay
You get some monsters round that area, last time I dived it I found the ledges were very undercut allowing the cray to get a long way in

Bunkers
Bunkers bay holds a few crays on the lumps at the northern end and on the middle reef.If you are prepared to walk around passed the quarries there are some good edges/bombies that always hold good numbers.Don't be scared to look in the thick kelp/weed,it hides some crevices.
There are some to be caught out from the pro moorings at Quindalup but you have to swim a long way out to find the shallow ledge that runs through there.
