Never tried squidin and was motorvated after attending the 'squid night' at Bluewater Morley. So on the way back from a fish this mornin I stopped to try the free jig I got from the night and first cast I was on (technique mastered) next cast landed me this beauty (33 cm hood), thought it was a cuttlefish it was that big, pulled some line off my 4lb gear. Another goal kicked, stoked, need a pinky on a placcy now (or on fresh squid)

Nice
Cannot beat a feed of fresh caught squid. Always have a squid jig on board somewhere, it can turn a very quiet fishing day into a great feed.

Went few hours before sun up in hope of a pinky, seemed like I had a school on the sounder but no takers on bait or plackys, sun up, skippy come to play and the first went back with a hook in it but uncle sam wasnt to be seen. Stopped over weed in 5 meters to give the squidin a go. Havent even tryed to find the tailor in the area yet, bound to be monsters on the reefs

Nice one
certainly a nice Southern Calamari mate.
There an impressive animal when the hoods get over 30cm.
I've personally seen 2 that went over 50cm on the Busso jetty, seriously BIG squid!
ps. GO HAWKS!
