Its a 3k gearbox with a 2500
Its a 3k gearbox with a 2500 sized spool AND ROTOR. That kills off the choice of fitting a 3k spool.
I have a Daiwa Bradia 2500R as a 15lb jigger, takes 300m of 15lb tufline. Not sure I need any more capacity than that ;)

No it won't fit.
The 2508 and the 3000 are completely different sized reels.

The 2508 is a finesse reel
The 2508 is a finesse reel with a shallow spool and lighter gears, drive etc to reduce weight, no good if you want to stick 30lb braid on and doin' the damage, like till says different sized rotor (once again to reduce weight) so the spool wont fit inside it.
