Submitted by Walfootrot on Sat, 2013-08-10 08:35
Hi all,
We have an RDO tomorrow and have managed to get a few spots on a charter out of Dampier.
Price $350 per pax, bit high, but thats the only boat I could get on short notice.
Its with Neptune sea charters.
Has anyone been out with them?
Hope to have some pic's to post come Monday.

Yer their feeding us, fillet
Yer their feeding us, fillet and vac pack the catch, they supply the standard stuff like rods, bait, soft drinks for the soft coc.s. we bring the beer.
Yer its on the upper end of the scale, but its a day out of camp, a day wetting a line and we may end up with some fresh fish for the BBQ.
Dont mind paying for quality, see what we get and will let you's know

Went on one out of Dampier
Went on one out of Dampier about four years ago and cleaned up. Lots of reds, rankin, saddle tail and a few mackies to top it off. That one was called ocean anus (Oceanus)

Mmmm, going to try and be
Mmmm, going to try and be nice.
Not many fish, 13 on the boat and around 18 keepers caught, nothing big,
3 ranken, 6-7 reds, saddle tails...
Nice day, good weather.
For the price $350 per pax, I would have thought we would have fished some where other than the gas line, as this area gets hammered.
Nice boat, rods and reels were ok, crew was good, food supplied was good
Down side of this charter
1, fishing known grounds.
2, only squid for bait
3, tight fishing ( lack of room )
I feel that this area has been hammered as 90% of the fish caught were under size and the keepers were just size.
Still a good day out, whales breaching everwhere.
I would not go again ( not at $350 a head ), would rather drive the 4 hours down to Coral Bay and pay less catch more.

a white one? yeah ok i did
a white one? yeah ok i did see another boat closer in. I wouldn't pay $350 for that. I guess it's hard for charters off here as they have to travel 30-40Nm to get to any ground but what price do you put on people getting some fillets. i was another 3-5Nm further out wasting 6 hours looking for billfish.

Yes and some spots around West Reef
or somewhere around bare rock might have been more productive.
