Dampier Classic Results.

Good to see the top Karratha Billfish guys all in action over the long weekend in Dampier.
Tough luck to Adam and the Premium Edition guys to miss out on the chocolates on count back after leading most of the weekend and having one cracker of a day 2.
Would of loved a couple more shots but had to be happy with our result in the end.

Yep. Got her over the line for Champ Female. We finished 3rd overall.
Also got most individual tagged billfish for 2 of the 4 days fishing.

Yeh was a tough couple of days weather on the Friday/Saturday. After leading for 3.5 days it was devastating to lose the lead on the Monday, boat was extremely quiet (especially seeing as the stereo died on the Sunday) Getting a clutch fish to get back into the comp at 4pm gave us an hour to try and find one more, but it wasn't to be.
We ended up with 7 blacks and 8 sails. The boat that pipped us ended up with 10 blacks and 3 sails.
We got champion angler billfish male and I came equal second which was 4th on countback.
Got a few photos, but nothing special as all focus was on getting the tag in rather than getting the pics. Landing a triple of sails on Saturday and a double 20 minutes later were highlights. On the Sunday we had a double of blacks eating both teasers, a sail on livie hooked up and one on gar and pure pandemonium going on, was pretty memorable.

good to see it was close but. We rasied 4 and hooked 2 in 3 hours on the Tuesday, mostly blacks too, just gotta sharpen those skills a little and the hooks. Pete's doing well to get a few solo that's hard work!

That bodes well for later on in the year , I think in the past when Dampier has fired the following Gamex has been a balltearer . Heres hoping
