Decent Beach Rod & Reel Combinations?

Looking at upgrading my 10Ft ugly stick which ive had for about 20yrs & ive caught many Tailor so its served me well, im looking for a couple of beach set ups that will last as long as the last one has ,I will have to buy two as the scon burner wants one also.

So if anyone can give me any tips on whats worth buying at the moment that would be great as we aim to hit the beaches for overniters over the next few weeks to try our luck for some Tailor/herring e.t.c

We have never fished North of the river so we are looking at going Yanchep / Two Rocks way or even Lancelin so any info that i can get from here regarding safe beach camping with easy 4wd access to the beach would be appreciated also.

Cheers.

ha ha scon burner

with regards to the combo's do you have a price in mind.  I prefer to use graphite rods  as i like their casting action rovex make some good cheaper ones about $130 for the rod or you can pay anywhere up to $650+ for one of the 13ft saltiga ballistic's or the likes.

as for the reel spinning reels are usually the easiest for the beach especiallty after dark, the penn spinfishers will do the trick at around $100 for an 850ss or 950ss.  some reels like the daiwa emblem pro are a bit more expensive but feature a long cast spool for added casting distance.

If you give me an idea of your price range hammerhead it will help determine the best value for money.  I take it you would like to use these combo' s for tailor/mulloway  if you want to chuck heavier baits than a mulie you will need to look at the casting weight of the rod you purchase.

As for spots all those you mentioned are worth a crack, if you go past lancelin about 20min you can now drive into wedge via bitumen and hit the beach there for miles of exploring, nice spot to camp if its not too windy

cheers

Around $250 per combo would be fine i saw the Penn 850SS today at BCF $208 each so where can i buy them for $100 thats a good deal mate!I see a few 12Ft ugly sticks there also for around the $150 mark.

Regarding the casting weight i mainly just baitcast mulies it seems to work well for me but i also like to be able to use a small spoon sinker also.

Will probably have a look around Wedge way this weekend if i get my gear together.

Thanks for your post.
