Demersal jigging outfit

Fairly new to jigging ,have had a bit of success using my saltiga 4500 and Catalina but wanting to go a little more sporting, not sure weather to go the jigging master pe4 reel matched to the jigging master pe 1.5-3 or go something like certate hyper custom 4000 and rod to suit, not sure as to what rod would be best suited to this reel.interested in any feedback

P.s maybe more versatility with a spinning reel..

i was in the same situation my saltiga 4000 seemed like over kill
certates are an option but i ended up getting a morethan branzino 3000 perfect reel for the job put 20lb on it
jigging master pe4 reel would be way to much power if you were wanting something more sporting

rod options are rods liek the hearty  rise jigforce or
rods like this http://fishwrecked.com/forum/4-sale-daiwa-saltiga-bay-jigging-bj64xhs-spinning-rod

personally I perfer a spinning reel oposed to a O/H. I just find its easier to use and more versatile, also you will find a hell of a lot more rods on the market for spin.

Really depends on how much you want to spend at the end of the day. I would steer away from the certate hyper and look at a new catalina as they are the same price and a catalina would suit the situation better.

There's plenty of rods on the market now so you have a wide range to choose from, I like my saltiga 62s but again comes down to how much you want to $$$

I just bought a Yamaga Blanks

I just bought a Yamaga Blanks 59/3 (5'9" rated to 120g) for PE2 and whilst I haven't had the chance to use it yet I'm very happy with how it feels in the hand and I will also be getting the 59/5 (180g) for slightly heavier work with PE3. I am going to pair it with a Stella SW4000PG and PE2 Sunline jigging braid... really looking forward to getting stuck into some demersals with it.

pe2 is more than enough for

pe2 is more than enough for almost  any metro demersal, save maybe for plus 100 cm dhu, but even then you have a chance. PE3 overfill for demersals  in most situations if you want sporting plus PE2 heaps nicer to use.

Lots of good outfits around, I suggest you try a few out on the water first. A reel with 75-85 cm per turn  is what your after for PE2 jigging, Stella SW4000PG pick of the bunch but  similar options from Daiwa etc.

Rod around 6'6 best for PE2 , nees to be a bit longer than heavier rated rods to allow the correct action on the lighter demersal jigs. Rating of 80-120 g perfect.

We prefer spin also on the ligher stuff ie PE1-3 and the likes of the Stella 5000SW matched to a JM 150 Evolution or JM Three Kings Ultra Light would be sweet. Line wise the YGK PE X Nitlon in PE2 sweet as.
