Hi I am new to Fishwrecked. I am dragging my 19ft tinny up to DHI and plan to travel accross from Denham. I plan to explore with the fishing but am after some guidance on the crossing and the surrounding waters. Does the tide affect beach access a lot or is it a fairly steep beach. Any hints/ advice would be appreciated. I am excited and am not sure what to expect. I am staying at the homestead. Is the passage past Steep Pt treacherous?

Never been to the homestead so cant help you there. The crossing is relatively easy if you have a plotter but can get a bit sloppy in the middle in the deeper water depending on weather.
South Passage(steep point) closes out along the fault line in swells over 3 metres. Can also break on big out going tides so keep that in mind when planning your trips.
Awesome place,great fishing but needs respect coz its a long way to find help or help to find you. Have fun.
