DIY Squid Light completed
Submitted by Ericl on Wed, 2012-08-22 08:44
Hi again
After reading all suggestions, I went ahead and completed my light
I also used a standard cylinder (plastic jar with plastic lid) Getting flotation from a wheelbarrow inner tube fixed to some scrap plastic (ex Wheelie Bin)
I then used the standard adhesive backing of the stip light but covered this with a clear plastic heat shrink sleeve as a precaution against the adhesive letting go
Then sealed joints with copious amounts of glue lined heat shrink
Lastly tested in my pool
Here are my pics
Cheers
Eric

Hi Daniel YIdea is to hang it
Hi Daniel Y
Idea is to hang it off the boat and wait. Hopefully squid and others will come to look and we then cast out lures beyond them and bring the lures back through the squid (if they have come)
Will post results after first session - soon I hope

Transom mounted led wouldv
Transom mounted led wouldv been easier, brings the squid up to mine at night
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
