Does/has anyone buy mercruiser parts ex US (or local at reasonable prices)

Hi guys
looking at doing a bit of maintenance/freshen up on an engine I have bought - its a mercruiser 260 (5.7 carby) and starts and runs fine - the marinised externals all look a bit tired so I am looking to replace
*Manifolds and risers
*raw water pump impellor
*circulating pump
*thermostat
I am looking at non genuine parts mainly and my first look at prices between AUS and US indicate they are wildly different - most of the US priced stuff I have seen is on EBAY however and the shipping is huge (like 700 for manifolds and risers and 800 for shipping!)
Has anyone bought ex US with reasonable shipping? - cheaper shipping is likely to equate to slower shipping but I don't care so much about how long it takes
cheers

Parts
For manifolds and risers check the GLM stuff locally as they are a bit cheaper but not a huge amount. Try to convert to dry joint if you can.
Is the boat in the water or on a trailer?
Do you have the alignment tools to put the leg back on after doing the water pump?
For the small stuff like impeller kit and thermostat eBay is cheapest but even the freight on the circulation pump will negate any savings on the purchase price.

thanks mate
yeah was looking to go dry joint - boat is on a trailer, water pick up is through hull to a raw water pump.
Freight seems to be the killer - I used to use a guy in Florida to buy gear off - his freight was unbelievable - unfortunately he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth - which happens every now and then in Florida!
