last time I was in kalbarri in july I went for a fush with tangles and callum24. This time im heading up with dad for a few days and wanting to go out on the boat any advice guys? Where to fish on the boat hows the swell/wind also what size boat should I bring and what types of fish would be best to target. we have a few boats we can bring up from a 4.2 up Barra boat 5.8 centre console or the 10m hard top?
Thanks guys :)

I went up a few years back
I went up a few years back land based, Was late December. Can't comment on the fishing as my lure spent most of its time in the dunes... Now go up in April and clean up.

Mac's
Mate of mine was up there January this year in his 5m boat and mac's and tuna were busting up not far out from the river mouth on most days, they also got a few pinkies and tuna with limited knowledge of the area. There is another FW report by Grooveepants on here that also reports good fishing on his last Xmas holidays and also gives a GPS mark for bait grounds to the north, wind was up and shows in is his photo's. As for which boat to take will depend how many days you have V's how much time you can spend on the water due to weather conditions, which is hard to predicted. A few years back I went out through the river mouth in my 3.9 tinnie, when I returned the wind and chop was up a bit and being low in the water makes it had to navigate back in the river entry, I only had a hand small hand held GPS for extra guidance. If I had your choice of boats it would probably be the 5.8m. I will be up there from the 4th to 11th of Jan. I have a 6.8m that will be staying home and only taking my tinnie, as family time and wind conditions V's possible fishing time is not worth taking bigger boat and all my gear. I will drop in for a beer if I see you up there, I have a white dual cab 100S land cruiser with canvas canopy, 3.9m tinnie with 25hp Yam and saying at the Kalbarri beach resort.
