Estimate

Rough estimate would be somewhere near 15 metre at low low tide. They can load ships to a draught of 14 metres and used below keel clearance computor modelling to get them out on the rising tide.

You can actually see some depth markings on the oposite side. Pretty sure I have seen 16m written on the berth opposite.

when

when i was working on the rotto ferry at the berths on the sounder showed 13.5 metres..

it definately gets deeper if you cast out further but the current can sumtimes be a p*ss *ff
the dredger didnt go within 20 metres of either side of the wharfs..?? but yeah a decent cast usually hits a deeper spot than at ur feet.. butt most people ive spoken too reckon a 5m cast is all you need..?? dunno..??
