Exmouth accommodation with a large boat

 Hi all

we are starting to organise an exmouth trip for next year and will be taking up the jackman which is very close to 10m total length from trailer hitch to motors and is 2.65m wide being we have never stayed up there before where could you recommend we stay think its just gunna be me and the wife looking at staying up there for around 10-12 days. Looking on line some of the pictures of the houses up there there is no where I could park the boat attached to the car all the time.

Also on a side note what months are some of the comps on wouldn't mind being part of one.

many thanks

Rod

Have you tried looking at the houses that back onto the marina? That way you launch your boat once at the start and then just tie it up behind the house each night.

I stayed at 7 Learmonth last

I stayed at 7 Learmonth last year. 4 bedroom house so may be bigger than your looking for but two driveways both more than long enough to accommodate the Jackman on a trailer plus car.  Pretty easy to reverse into as well plus really central - I would stay there again.  Inside was a bit old but was told it has been refurbished since.

Or the marina with the boat parked in the water out the back!!

If its just the two of you

If its just the two of you look at 5 Learmonth. I have a similar boat and have stayed there a few times. Plenty of room for parking a boat and car. It's one of the cheapest houses available but its really clean  and has everything you need. It's right in town too so its walking distance to the shops and pub. The owners live behind the house and are really helpful and great people.

helen will be able to sort you out plenty of houses to choose from at varying budgets i've only stayed at Frangipani which is nothing flash but did the job for what we were after and also had an outside deep freezer . would have enough room but would have to back in were their would be more suitable ones with drive through blocks that i know they had

Hey Roddo,

have stayed a couple of times at villa 3, in village quays. Great tidy unit. room for plenty more that 2 but you never know if you mite get tag alongs for a few days fishing (advertised at $1700pw but both times we have been in october we have got it for $1400. has its own jetty to leave your boat across the road but not quiet as extravagant or pricey as the canal front houses.

When we stayed at a house on

When we stayed at a house on the marina last april there were vacant blocks everywhere, and one right next to our house so we parked all the boats there.

rethink

mate, I would consider another alternative destination. 10 to 12 days is not a long time for a weather wi dow. In exy at the moment after the 2 day drive up . Been here a week and its blowing at 30 knts every day and looks to be the same for the next week. Have not fired a shot yet. Its very expensive and a good way to blow your leave, sitting inside not able to fish. Got smashed the same time last year with the wind but thought I would give it 1 more try but at a cost of 4000 just for 3 weeks accommodation its hard to justify not to mention fuel bait ect and from what im hearing when you can get the boat in the sharks take most of your catch. Not sure ill be back.

Yep and the two weeks before you got here where awesome and we made the best of it :-)
Weather is what it is when you get here.
If you have to justify your trip by how many fish you catch maybe its not the place for you anyway
