Exmouth billfishing advice
Submitted by Tarpon on Wed, 2016-06-15 22:33
Hi all
I have decided that I would like to catch a marlin.
Intend to try in Exmouth next April, wish to book out a whole boat for a couple of days for me and my son
Need to choose between OnStrike and Peak, does anyone have any recommendations on either one (please PM if you wish) or are they just as good as each other
Regards
R

Peak
Both are pretty good. I've fished with Eddy, so I can highly recommend him.
He's also been The Billfish Foundation top Indian Ocean billfish tagging captain for the last few years.

Top tagging captain for
Top tagging captain for Blacks, Blues and Stripes. Pretty good effort.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Peak
You will catch fish with any of the charters, but Eddy will work harder than most to get you on a fish if it's a slow bite. There is another charter that should be up and running by then called black n blue marlin charters.

Get in early and book with
Get in early and book with peak. Can't go wrong. Puts in far more effort than the other option and consequently gets the results.

Peak.
Eddy cleaned up at Gamex last year, in very tough conditions. He knows where they are.

Ben Knight runs Ningaloo
Ben Knight runs Ningaloo sports fishing charters and he will put you on to a fish or ten. Top bloke and managed Bluewater Exmouth for years.

bill fish
Agree all the boys up there are good. but if it was my money i would go with Peak. My nephew is a regular crew member for Ed. They get the job done. Im in Coral Bay next week so hes coming on my boat for a few days to see if we can get a bill or 2 (provided i dont get to bored and want to stop for Rubies all the time)!!!

Thanks for the replies
I have heard a lot of good about Peak and will try to book with them. Unfortunately Eddy is away fishing in Africa at present and unable to take calls so hopefully he gets my emails.
I just have to pray that the weather is good....

Diversity
Diversity are a good crew and nice boat but they have bought a commercial fishing boat as well so prob won't be running many charters.

Absolutely Peak,Eddy does
Absolutely Peak,
Eddy does the hard work and it usually pays off, top bloke as well. I took my missus up there and though the biggest fish she'd caught was a Salmon they soon had her strapped into a 300lb Blue, the look on her face is priceless. Even though she was way out of her depth, both Ed and the decky made her feel right at home and she loved. She wants to go back and she wants a Blue with Eddy. Couldn't recommend him enough.

No problem with On Strike
Josh is also an excellent skipper, and I think from memory actually pipped Eddy in one of the tournaments last year.
He also has the advantage of having two boats - a 30ft centre console and a 40ft flybridge boat.

I wasn't aware of that.
I wasn't aware of that. Must have happened in the last 6 months or so, and it's still listed on their website.
Are you sure it's just not away during the offseason?

Landbased?
Hey everyone am heading up to exmouth on a road trip and wondering if land based is a option or get out on a charter boat? Judging by comments Eddie seems to be the man to see. Any info on la d based would be most helpful to.
