Exmouth fishing
Submitted by Clarissa.Baker on Wed, 2012-02-29 22:08
Up in Exmouth for the next 2 weeks fishing with my husband. First day out (Tuesday) proved successful with dinner coming in the form of a 63cm Spangled Emperor and a nice sized Mack.
Best part of the day by far was watching an enormous bait ball getting smashed from underneath by dolphins (including one launching through it - see attached photos), tuna and I am pretty sure I also saw a shark lurking in the depths, and masses of birds from above. Could have watched the action for ages. Unbelieveable how close all the action was - the bait ball took refuge under our boat until the tuna herded them out again. Amazing.

Just got back yesterday from a week up there. Plenty of baitschools getting smashed in the gulf by Mack Tuna and some nice Longtails too. Good fun on the light gear. Nice photos too.

That bait ball action looks
That bait ball action looks hectic. Nice pics
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Goto love Exxy
Baitballs can have you staring on in awe. And you forget to match the hatch and throw a slice out there. Nice Trevor bow waving through the bait, and a nice spango for dinner.
Great action shots.
