apparently i am going too next year,  our team is booked into the lighthouse C park from  6th to the 16th and we're travelling up with Paul g in convoy if anyone else wants to tag along, it cant happen soon enough

So far there are three of us heading up together ,usually sit on around the 100kph mark we will be stoping at the coral bay park for the night and traveling in first thing the next day.

But still need to organise the team.

Add Team Commodore Marine to the list.  Also add another quality prize to the 2011 list which will be announced at a later date!

I believe the lighthouse still have some cabins available, last time i spoke to them anyway. they are not tbe best ones, but hey its still acommodation!

Team 'Catchin Jack' will be making the trip down from K-town. and staying in the mariner with own private jetty i might add haha... Cant wait boys and girls. let the beers flow. oh and the fish too i spose.

Hi Everyone. I am more than likely coming up for the comp with my little friend Nat, but will probably stay in coral bay the week before. I wanted to ask what caravan park the majority of you are staying at, seeing we wont know anyone else and it will be safer for us if we know people. Also just wondering if anyone really does any landbased fishing in the comp? We dont have a boat, so probably wont catch much, but i am sure it will still be fun.

What are the chances of catching a fish from a jetski in exmouth?!?!!

well Helen there was a landbased catagory last year so the chances of catching some fish and winning is pretty good, the lighthouse would be the pick for fellow fishwrecked members and then you have the cape right there to wet a line, if you can bring yourself to fish rather than drink at night, i know i find it hard you could well end up with a nice spango to win the catagory, or go hard for a shark.

Staying off the grog at night to get the spangoes as they come into the shallows, especially when the rest of the crew are partying on.

I am thinking about the comp Adam as it is about time I came face to face with some of the critters on here. Dont put the name up yet as Team Cod Neels and Gillian.

Helen theres going to be plenty of people and boats up there for the comp, quite a few staying at the lighthouse caravan park, some staying longer, some going up earlier (Like me).

sure can, just need a rod tube...about $30 odd from most tackle stores.

I don't think I will be going now that my friend isnt coming. It will work out 2 expensive to travel up alone, and probably a bit dangerous. Flying will cost a little more than driving, but will be a pain with all the stuff i would need to bring. If I had a few more people in the car ot would have been better.

There might be someone who is heading up who would have room Helen, might be worth the question?

I'd give you a lift, but im going to Abroholos the week before and driving up to exy from there :)

How long before a trip do you guys start preparing? After leaving everything till the day we left last year im thinking i might start soon.

Simo, I usually get the fishing gear and boating stuff organised early, at least 2 weeks in advance if doing bearings etc.

Food, drink and clothes get done at the last minute. At least at Exmouth you can mostly buy anything you might forget.

Yep i will start mid next month i think, with boat and trailer maintenance.

Will be spending much of the next 6 weeks over seas, so wont be much fishing done, only work to get ready, as we are spending a week at port gregory, then straight up to exy for 9 days.

Interesting to know, when is everyone going up to exy? Is ther elikely to be crew about before the comp?

We arriving Monday 4th April.

I'm arriving on the 7th April in the arvo.

Will be in the area for a few days either side. Probably drop in to Mackerel Islands for a few days on the way home if we feel up to it.
