Few Snapper in Close
If you did not take your boat out over the last few days you must have had to work as the conditions have
been great. I spent Saturday with my sons travelling approx 50kms in our small boat trying to find some fish
without any luck, decided to have one last fish approx 2.5km from our launch point and caught a small Samson fish
and was busted off by what I thought was a large snapper.
Spent some extra time today preparing my gear and launched the boat at approx 1.00 in the arvo, got close to the same spot
(dont have a sounder) burlied up lightly and within 15 minutes had my first snapper, again line out and hooked up to a small eagle
ray which gave me a good workout. Ten minutes later smash, hit by another snapper which was about the same size as the first.
Decided to fish a little longer and my son hooked into a third snapper, all in all a great day on the water with some good snapper
between 62-70cm, all caught within 2 hours, did not even use a third of a block of mulies!!!!

Thanks Fellas,Clearly these
Thanks Fellas,
Clearly these are not huge snapper but I have been fishing out of small boats in the sound for years and only
caught a few just size snapper and small Mulloway, it got to the point that I pretty much gave up on fishing because as
far as I was concerned Perth was fished out and bread and butter fish got a bit boring.
Over the last two years I have got back into fishing as I have two boys 10 and 12 who have shown a keen interest
in fishing, I decided recently I would buy a boat again and try to keep the boys occupied and interested as I would rather
they wet a line then get into mishchief.
This new boat seems to be a pretty fishy boat, (sounds Crazy I know) I recently towed it to Shark bay and had a very succeful trip,
and have also caught some reasonable fish locally. The plan is to deck it out as funds become available.
Hey lets hope I can post some pics of some huge fish in the near future.

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

The best thing for young
The best thing for young fellas is a good sport like fishing, always remember trips out with my old man fondly.
My young fella is 5 and still remember his first decent fish KG whiting, was like the look on my face when I got my first Dhuie!

I have fished all my life but
I have fished all my life but over the past 25 or so years I gravitated to more and more boat based, more and more tech gear, bigger boats and travelling greater distances by road and by water to feed the addiction.
When my eldest boy became interested I thought it was a fad and it would die off but it has never worn off and now he is a mad keen angler. From him I started to learn again the fun to be had catching "angling" for smaller fish on light gear from the shore.
Enjoy spending time with your kids and not only will they learn from you but you will also get a lot from them.
