Finally... Go Pro tow cam D.I.Y Pics added....
After looking at tow cams and how expensive they are i wanted to do something with my Go pro.
I have to give www.bloodydecks.com for this info and Pepe (pepekauai) for the design.....
The video..... ( not as stable as the real towcam but i recon if you ad small wings it will sit level)
The rig is just a long funnel and an old ono trolling lead. I put a strip of aluminum in the funnel, bolted on the camera mount, lead and swivel. It handles up to 14 knots and is super stable.

Some great footage there
love the 'squadrons' of tuna.
Also really interesting to see how the Marlin attacks the baits. That's just convinced me further that switch baiting is the go.

Awesome vid Marc. Just goes
Awesome vid Marc. Just goes to show that there can be a smorgasbord of baits/ lures and they just come in for a look and not jump on the first thing they see. You're right Matt, this is why switch baiting is so effective - so long as you see the fish. The majority of the time you wouldnt have known the marlin was there if you were fishing from a trailerable boat. Bit different if you were sitting on a flybridge or tower - would have stuck out like dogs balls.

not a bad effort at all.
not a bad effort at all. have you thought about putting the lead inside the cone to stop the bubble trail behind it. i think it would work better. good to see someone with a bit of an invention that works. is that just a normal u/water camera that is mounted in the cone.
