Hey all
I'm really after some must do's and see's on a river cruise
Got the inlaws over from Blighty, and I'm thinking it's about time I dunked the boat in the river, for the first time, to show them what perth has to offer
Will be launching at mathilda bay. It would be nice to stop off somewhere reasonable for a bite and a drink (not too exxy)
Where would you go??
cheers

Down river maybe Left Bank or keep going to Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour. Bit to choose there, Little Creatures, kaillis and Cicerellos. Parking the boat should be pretty easy also.....Cheers

why not cruise up river and
why not cruise up river and finish at the jetty where the ferry comes in , either on the city side or south perth side. there are places to go for a cuppa both sides. as far as a sightseeing cruise i dont realy think there is much to look at in either direction, however if you were to smuggle a couple of rods with lures onto the boat and threw them out while cruising there might be some excitement for the in laws. hope the day goes well for you.
another place you could do a cruise is down in mandurah. start one end and go to the other then out into the open waters with lures in tow behind the smuggled rods

There are public tie up spots
All around the Fremantle Fishing boat harbour in the corner near little creatures. Just read the signage, you may not be able to get onto a jetty directly behind creatures, but in the corner out the front of kailis/ciccerellos I think its 4 hour tie up. Make sure you secure the boat and your vaulables and its a 2-3 min walk to creatures.
There was some works on the last time I was down there (6months or more) to increase the amount of public wharf space which should probably be finished now.

From my experience tying up
From my experience tying up at Fishermans Harbour is perfectly acceptable and an excellent place to go. There are only a couple of spots that are clearly signed as no go areas.

One day I hope to replace the boat picture I am using with one of a decent fish...One day...

hey mate1 thing i would
hey mate
1 thing i would recomend if possible is to do it on a nice calm day and during the week.
the river is a magic place when its shinny smooth water without 100+ boats screaming around and a cruise from matilda bay up river to f/b/harbour is unreal.
call in a get a feed then head over to carnac for a dip and a look at the seals.
exellent short day out mate.
enjoy
